Radio Amateur contributions¶
Find OPS-SAT!¶
Shortly before the launch, we 'launched' a small contest for radio amateur enthusiasts around the world to receive and decode the first beacons of OPS-SAT.
The news spread very fast and soon, antennas on every continent were tracking OPS-SAT hours after it was deployed from the launcher.
We received many submissions from all over the world and have issued personalised certificates for the radio amateurs that participated.
Congratulations to:- Paul Boven, PE1NUT - PI9CAM
- Clément Jonglez
- Petri Niemelä, OH2AGS
for being the first to receive and decode the telemetry beacon and report the information back to ESA in the proper format, well done!
SatNOGS¶
Many radio amateurs around the world have supported (and are still supporting!) the OPS-SAT mission with observations and status reports.
As of 26/05/2020, 399765 UHF telemetry frames have been submitted to SatNOGS DB!
A brief overview of all the stations that have been tracking OPS-SAT via the SatNOGS network:
